City turns to sunlit, hot days; max temp may reach 34degC today
LUCKNOW, March 7 -- Day and night temperatures in Lucknow are set to rise further in the next 24 hours. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 34degC, while the minimum temperature will be around 19deg C, respectively, on Saturday, as per the weather forecast. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted sunny days with clear sky conditions. The forecast for the next few days suggests that it is expected to remain relatively warm over the next five days as the day temperatures continue to rise gradually.
"With a gradual increase of 2 to 3degC in maximum temperatures expected over the next five days, temperatures are expected to remain significantly above normal, resulting in relatively warmer weather," said Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at Lucknow Met office.
The maximum temperature in Bundelkhand region, particularly in two districts - Jhansi and Banda - has crossed 35deg C. In Agra, the maximum temperature was 7.1 degrees above the normal on Friday. At Hamirpur and Orai, the day temperature rose to 34.2 and 34deg C. In the first week of March, the day temperature in Jhansi rose to 36.2deg C, 5.2 degrees above normal. Banda was no better at 35.6deg C. In Hamirpur and Orai, the day temperature rose to 34.2 and 34deg C. Lucknow's temperatures are rising too. The day temperature in the state capital was 32.9deg C which is 3.3 degrees above normal. The night temperature was 18.6deg C which is 5.2 degrees above normal....
