LUCKNOW, July 22 -- The son of the owner of a popular tea shop in Lalbagh has been arrested in connection with alleged celebratory firing during a birthday party at a resort in Mohanlalganj, while the investigating officer in the case has been suspended for alleged negligence, police said on Tuesday. The incident allegedly took place around 11 pm on July 19 at Sparrow Resort after Mohanlalganj police received information about celebratory firing during a birthday party. A police team reached the spot and began an inquiry. Police said the party was organised by Gaurav Sharma, son of the owner of a well-known tea shop in Lalbagh, through resort manager Rinku alias Ashish Tiwari, a native of Bihar's Siwan district. "Following a complaint by a resort maintenance employee, an FIR was registered at Mohanlalganj police station under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Gaurav Sharma, named in the FIR, was arrested," said ADCP South Vasanth Rallapalli. He said two other persons were earlier detained for questioning, while efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accused identified during the investigation. In a parallel development, Kanakha outpost in-charge, sub-inspector Nimesh Dubey, was suspended with immediate effect after an inquiry by the assistant commissioner of police (Mohanlalganj) found alleged negligence in the investigation. "Police are examining CCTV footage from the resort to identify all those allegedly involved in the celebratory firing and determine their individual roles. Legal action will be taken against every person found involved after the investigation," the ADCP said....
