Dehradun, May 25 -- On the second day of his visit to Uttarakhand , Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar visited the Yamunotri Dham in Uttarkashi district, where he offered prayers to Goddess Yamuna and performed a special puja, praying for the prosperity, peace and well-being of the nation. The CEC arrived at the Kharsali helipad in the morning, where he was received by administrative officials and local residents. He later proceeded to the shrine, where he performed rituals and offered prayers seeking the strengthening of democratic values and continued national progress. Following the puja, he was briefed about arrangements for the ongoing pilgrimage. He also appreciated facilities being provided to devotees and commended officials for ensuring smooth, safe and well-organised arrangements for pilgrims. Present on the occasion were Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand BVRC Purushottam, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande, District Magistrate Prashant Arya, and Superintendent of Police Kamlesh Upadhyay, along with Sub-Divisional Magistrates Brijesh Kumar Tiwari and Mukesh Chand Ramola, Temple Committee Secretary Sunil Uniyal, shrine priests and local residents....
