CB Gupta's life will continue to inspire people, says Mahana
LUCKNOW, July 15 -- Satish Mahana, Uttar Pradesh assembly speaker, on Tuesday said former chief minister and freedom fighter Chandra Bhanu Gupta's life continues to inspire people through its ideals of sacrifice, public service and value-based politics.
Addressing the Chandra Bhanu Gupta Rashtriya Gaurav Samman-2026 ceremony at Ravindralaya auditorium in Charbagh on the occasion of Gupta's 124th birth anniversary, Mahana said recognition associated with the name of a great personality carries significance because it reflects the values and principles they stood for.
He said Gupta (1902-1980) dedicated his life to public service and made lasting contributions to education, culture and social welfare. He said the standards set by the former UP chief minister will continue to guide future generations.
At the event, agricultural scientist Dr Ram Kathin Singh was conferred the Chandra Bhanu Gupta Rashtriya Gaurav Samman-2026 for his contribution to agriculture and environment, while Dr Hemant Bhai Goyal was honoured for his work in social service and the rights of persons with disabilities. Both awardees received a citation, a shawl and a cash award of Rs.1 lakh each. The programme was organised by Motilal Memorial Society and Bharat Seva Sansthan. Ujjwal Raman Singh, MP, Rajesh Singh, general secretary, Motilal Memorial Society, and former Rajya Sabha member Dr Ashok Bajpai were present on the occasion....
