case lodged against outgoing Pratapgarh SP dist president
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 7 -- Police have registered embezzlement cases against the outgoing Samajwadi Party (SP) Pratapgarh district president, Chhavinath Yadav, who is currently lodged in Kasganj Jail, along with his family members and associates. The charges stem from alleged financial irregularities and the misappropriation of government funds in village development projects between 2022 and 2027.
The cases were filed following complaints by residents Shiv Pujan and Utkarsh Mishra. They alleged that Yadav, his wife Priyanka, mother Shashi Prabha, brother Ankit (alias Deepak) and associate Ajit Yadav operated an organised network to siphon off public money.
Acting on directives from the SP, cases were registered against the named individuals and other unidentified suspects. Police officials stated that the investigation will focus on scrutinising village development records, financial transactions, and the involvement of local public functionaries and contractors. Further action remains pending as the allegations are under police scrutiny....
