Car rams into unidentified vehicle in Amroha, 4 killed
Meerut, May 21 -- A road accident in Amroha district claimed the lives of four youths, including a taxi driver, after a WagonR car crashed into an unidentified vehicle from behind on the highway near Gajraula in the early hours of Wednesday. Two other passengers sustained injuries and were admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
The deceased driver was identified as Mohammad Salman (27), a resident of Pankhewalan Gate Bamanpuri in Rampur. Police said the identities of the three other deceased passengers have not yet been established. According to Salman's brother Tanveer, five youths from another state had planned to travel to Delhi from Rampur by train. However, after missing their train, they decided to continue the journey by road and hired Salman's car on Wednesday morning.
The accident took place around 4 am when the WagonR had crossed Khyalipur Dhal and was nearly 200 metres ahead on the highway while heading towards Delhi. Preliminary reports suggest that the speeding car rammed into an unidentified vehicle moving ahead on the road, resulting in the deaths of Salman and three passengers on the spot. Two passengers, identified as Hasnain and Sametul Islam, survived the crash with injuries. Following information about the incident, UP-112 police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a private hospital in Chaudharpur under the Didauli Kotwali area. Inspector Manoj Kumar said the bodies of the three unidentified victims have been kept in the mortuary....
