LUCKNOW, Aug. 4 -- Burglars allegedly stole ornaments from the deities at Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple in New Hyderabad under the Mahanagar police station limits in the wee hours of August 3 and fled with the temple's CCTV digital video recorder (DVR), police said on Monday. "The temple caretaker lodged a complaint alleging that unidentified persons broke into the temple during the night, stole the ornaments adorning the deities and took away the DVR connected to the CCTV cameras, apparently to destroy evidence," said SHO Mahanagar Akhilesh Kr Mishra. Police said a detailed inventory of the stolen ornaments will be submitted separately. Based on the complaint, Mahanagar police registered an FIR against unidentified persons under relevant provisions of the BNS, and the investigation was assigned to sub-inspector Arun Pratap Saroj. Police said teams are examining evidence from the crime scene and nearby areas, while analysing technical evidence to identify the accused and recover the stolen ornaments and CCTV DVR.
