Lucknow, July 31 -- Urban development and energy minister A.K. Sharma on Thursday ordered an inquiry into allegations that a UPPCL official demanded a bribe to correct a consumer's electricity bill, asserting that corruption and harassment of consumers would not be tolerated. The complaint was made by Sudhir Kumar Dwivedi of Unnao during the minister's public grievance hearing. Sharma directed director (distribution) GD Dwivedi to investigate the allegation against the executive engineer and take strict action if the charges are found to be true. Sharma reiterated that no official involved in corruption would be spared.
