LUCKNOW, Aug. 5 -- An 11-year-old boy was rescued within six hours and a 25-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly kidnapped the child to force his mother to marry him, police said on Tuesday. According to DCP North Amit K Anand, the accused, Ajay Yadav alias Chhannu Lal Yadav, had become acquainted with the 35-year-old complainant through Instagram. Over time, he allegedly began pressuring her to marry him and threatened her with dire consequences over the phone when she refused. "On the intervening night of August 3 and 4, the woman approached Madiaon police alleging that the accused had abducted her 11-year-old son. Fearing for the child's safety, she sought immediate police intervention," the DCP Added. A joint team of Madiyaon police and the DCP North surveillance and crime branch launched a search operation and rescued the boy safely within six hours from Chulambha village in Kaiserganj, Bahraich district. The accused was arrested from the spot. A 54-year-old man died during treatment after his wife and elder son allegedly assaulted him during a domestic dispute at their Nigohan home on Monday evening, police said. The victim was taken to Railway Hospital in Alambagh, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have sent the body for postmortem examination and said further legal action will depend on the findings and evidence collected during the investigation. LUCKNOW A property dispute within a family allegedly turned violent in Chinhat after an argument over a pet dog dirtying a common passage, police said on Tuesday. Police said the cause of death will be established through the postmortem report and evidence collected during the investigation. A 65-year-old priest of Rambagh Dham Amethi Temple in Gosaiganj allegedly died after coming in contact with a domestic electricity connection on the temple premises on Tuesday, police said. Officers reached the spot and began inquest proceedings. The body has been sent for postmortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
