Dehradun, Oct. 20 -- Over three months after a 22-year-old undergraduate student went missing under suspicious circumstances from Azad Colony near ISBT, his skeletal remains were recovered deep inside a forest area beyond Dehradun's Kimadi, police said on Monday. The deceased, identified as Mohammad Sarik, was pursuing his graduation at a local private university. He had been missing since the night of July 17. His family members identified the remains based on the clothes found at the scene, police said. On July 18, a missing person report was filed at the Patel Nagar police station. As initial searches yielded no clues, police later converted the missing report into a case of kidnapping. ASI Mahendra Singh Rana said, "When a drone was being flown in the area by somebody, it captured footage of a two-wheeler parked in an isolated area deep inside the forest. They alerted us. Upon reaching on Saturday, we found Sarik's scooter and discovered skeletal remains scattered a short distance away. We immediately informed forensics team for examination of the scene."...
