BJP workers work for nation, not posts: Sharma
Lakhimpur Kheri, May 18 -- A two-day BJP training camp for party workers began in Gola on Sunday at Kunj Bihari Rathi Auditorium under the theme 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat', with party leaders focusing on organisational discipline, outreach programmes and the BJP's governance agenda.
BJP MP Dinesh Sharma attended the inaugural session as the chief guest and said the BJP is an organisation-based party committed to its ideological principles and public welfare goals. Addressing party workers, Sharma referred to the construction of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya and the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir as key promises fulfilled by the BJP government.
He also spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's economic and foreign policy initiatives, citing the UAE's decision to set up a 3-crore barrel petroleum reserve in India and India's supply of COVID-19 vaccines to 120 countries.
Targeting opposition parties, Sharma accused the Congress of undermining democracy during the Emergency period and alleged that the Samajwadi Party practices caste-based politics, while the BJP follows a development-focused agenda.
"BJP workers do not aspire for party or government posts but work for the nation," he said, asking party workers to intensify door-to-door campaigns in villages under the party's outreach programme.
