Dehradun, March 8 -- Union home minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form its government in Uttarakhand for the third consecutive time in 2027. Shah was addressing a gathering at the 'Jan Jan Ki Sarkar, 4 Saal Bemisaal' event at Bairagi Camp, Haridwar, to mark four years of the BJP government in the state. On the occasion, he also laid the foundation stone for 22 projects worth Rs.1,014.81 crore and inaugurated 17 projects worth Rs.115.10 crore. At the event, Union home minister also distributed appointment letters to newly recruited constables in the Uttarakhand Police, granted citizenship certificates to refugees from Pakistan and Afghanistan, launched the e-Zero FIR system for cyber fraud complaints under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and released the book Vikalp Rahit Sankalp based on speeches of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Shah also inaugurated a state-level exhibition on the theme of the new criminal laws organised by the Uttarakhand government at Bairagi Camp in Haridwar. He said, "...In 2024, Narendra Modi became Prime Minister for the third consecutive time, a feat that happened after six decades. In 2024, a BJP chief minister was elected in Odisha. A hat-trick in Haryana, a hat-trick in Maharashtra. In 2025, the AAP party was wiped out in Delhi. A government was formed in Bihar with a two-third majority. The BJP flag is flying high in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. In 2026, the BJP and NDA governments will be formed in Bengal and Tamil Nadu. But the people of Devbhoomi will have to inaugurate 2027. A BJP government will be formed in Uttarakhand once again in 2027," he said. He said people have to choose between the BJP and Congress, which, he said, can't ensure the state's development. Meanwhile Dhirendra Pratap, Uttarakhand Congress spokesperson, said, "The government resources were misused for the event. Only a limited number of people attended it. It was a failure."...
