Dehradun, April 7 -- Leaders and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party celebrated the party's Foundation Day across Uttarakhand on Sunday, with state leaders expressing confidence of securing a "hat-trick" victory in the 2027 assembly elections. The main programme was organised at the party's state headquarters in Dehradun, where the party flag was hoisted and workers exchanged greetings while marking the occasion with slogans and distribution of sweets. Addressing party workers, BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt congratulated party members and said the organisation had grown into the world's largest political party despite facing what he termed as "oppressive and conspiratorial politics" from its opponents. Bhatt paid tribute to party workers who sacrificed and worked tirelessly to strengthen the organisation. He said the party's journey, which began with just two seats in 1952, has continued steadily and today the party has formed the government at the Centre for three consecutive terms. Recalling the contribution of Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Bhatt said he sacrificed his life for national unity and to ensure that Jammu and Kashmir remained an integral part of the country. Bhatt added that BJP governments remain committed to development and preservation of the country's cultural heritage. In the state, he said, development and renovation works at religious sites such as Badrinath Temple and Kedarnath Temple reflect this commitment. Bhatt said the BJP would celebrate its next Foundation Day after securing a third consecutive victory in the 2027 elections....
