BJP targets clean sweep in Varanasi MLC polls
VARANASI, Sept. 12 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ramped up its preparations for the upcoming teachers' and graduates' MLC elections, with senior party leaders stressing the need for intensive voter registration campaigns to secure a clean sweep.
During a regional strategy session held here, BJP state vice president Shankar Giri emphasised the significance of every electoral contest, urging party cadres to begin immediate ground preparations to ensure a 100% victory for the party.
Giri outlined a focused outreach strategy, directing party members to visit schools associated with the party and its wider ideological family (Vichar Parivar) to enroll eligible teachers. He further advised prioritising the registration of graduates within their immediate networks including party office-bearers, workers, and members of the intellectual class to strengthen the party's standing in the graduates' constituency.
Presiding over the meeting, BJP Kashi region president Ashok Chaurasia framed the upcoming MLC polls as a critical precursor to the 2027 state assembly elections. Highlighting the prestige of the region as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency, Chaurasia underscored the heightened responsibility of the party workers.
"The eyes of the nation and the world are fixed on every development here," Chaurasia stated.
The meeting was attended by party leadership from 10 organisational districts, including former MLA Surendra Narayan Singh, BJP district president Ramsakal Patel, Avadhesh Gupta, Anil Srivastava, Amit Rai, Jagdish Tripathi, Praveen Singh Gautam, Anil Gupta, Sonu Pandit, media in-charge Santosh Solapurkar and Dhirendra Sharma, alongside district convenors and co-convenors....
