BJP should clarify its stand on quota: Cong leader
LUCKNOW, Aug. 25 -- Targeting the BJP government over reservation, Rajendra Pal Gautam, All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge for Uttar Pradesh, on Monday said the ruling party should clarify its stand on the issue.
Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, he said: "Uttar Pradesh deputy CM Brajesh Pathak recently held a press conference with students protesting against reservation and assured them that he will help them meet a Union minister over the issue. In such a situation, the BJP should clear its stand."
"If the BJP is with students and youth, why were 8,000 out of 69,000 teacher recruitment vacancies meant for SCs, STs, and OBCs were filled by the general category?" Gautam claimed.
"The PM and the home minister had promised in Parliament that they would conduct a caste census, but the column released does not include any OBCs.
This clearly shows that the BJP does not want to provide justice to OBCs, SCs, and STs," he further claimed....
