Lucknow, Sept. 1 -- From September 17, BJP workers across Uttar Pradesh will knock on doors, organise social programmes and showcase the Centre's achievements as the party begins preparing for the 2027 Assembly elections. The month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public life, was the focus of a state-level BJP workshop at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow on Monday, presided over by chief minister Yogi Adityanath. The campaign, scheduled from September 17 to October 17, will focus on taking the Centre's work and Modi's political journey to households across the state. Workers will be briefed on door-to-door outreach, while the party plans social programmes and exhibitions highlighting government achievements. Sources said Adityanath is also expected to lay out a roadmap for presenting Varanasi, Modi's parliamentary constituency, as a model of development and use it as an example during the campaign. Addressing BJP functionaries, Adityanath trained his guns on the Samajwadi Party, accusing its previous government of failing to address the concerns of weaker sections and of misusing public funds. He alleged that the SP had prioritised "appeasement politics" over development and also criticised the party over law and order. The chief minister highlighted welfare schemes introduced by the BJP for underprivileged sections, seeking to position the party's record on welfare and development at the heart of its outreach ahead of the 2027 polls. The workshop was attended by deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, national general secretary Smriti Irani, state president Pankaj Chaudhary and general secretary (Organisation) Dharmpal Singh.
