BJP MLA pledges Rs.20 lakh aid for Drishti
LUCKNOW, Sept. 16 -- Sarojininagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Tuesday pledged Rs.20 lakh financial assistance to Drishti Social Institute in Jankipuram Extension for the care, education and rehabilitation of children requiring special care.
The assistance will be provided through his Trust. Singh also committed to providing a digital TV and sound system for educational and recreational activities and assured future support for buses for educational and recreational trips. He distributed fruits and chocolates among the children and presented 150 sarees to caregivers and service staff.
Established in 1990 by the late Neeta Bahadur, Drishti currently houses 265 children and has 143 employees. Singh praised the institute's president Dhiresh Bahadur, Atharva Bahadur, Shalu Bahadur, manager Rohit and their team for their commitment to the children.
He also appealed to Trusts, CSR organisations and individuals to support Drishti's long-term requirements and ensure dignity, security and opportunities for the children....
