BJP leader's death: Brother alleges murder
LUCKNOW, July 30 -- The death of former UP minister and BJP OBC Morcha state general secretary Nanak Deen Bhurji, 68, took a fresh turn on Wednesday after his younger brother accused the caretaker of a BJP MLA of murdering him and lodged a complaint with Hazratganj police.
The allegation came a day after Bhurji, who had been accorded the status of a minister of state during a previous Samajwadi Party government, died after falling from the seventh floor of the New MLA Residence at Darul Shafa in Lucknow on Tuesday afternoon.
Assistant commissioner of police (Hazratganj) Rajneesh Kumar said police had received a complaint naming the caretaker and were probing all angles. "The post-mortem report is awaited and will be analysed before taking any further action," the officer said.
Following the incident, Bhurji's younger brother submitted a written complaint alleging that the MLA's caretaker, Mohammad Arif, had murdered his brother and sought a fair investigation into the matter....
