BHU, VNN sign MoU for collaborative dev, internships
VARANASI, May 24 -- Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and the Varanasi Nagar Nigam (VNN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on diverse initiatives, including urban management, infrastructure development, environmental sustainability and civic services. The agreement aims to benefit both citizens and the academic community through joint efforts in beautification and social development.
Registrar Prof Arun Kumar Singh signed the MoU on behalf of BHU, while municipal commissioner Shri Himanshu Nagpal signed for the Varanasi Municipal Corporation.
Under the understanding, VNN will undertake several civic infrastructure and beautification projects in and around the university campus. These key initiatives include: development of storm water drainage infrastructure in the Kandwa area; improvement of the Hyderabad Gate to Dafi corridor; and beautification and infrastructure enhancement near Malaviya Gate and the main entrance of BHU.
The civic body will also coordinate with the university on horticulture development, urban landscaping, sanitation and solid waste management measures.
A major highlight of the collaboration is the provision of structured internship and capacity-building opportunities for BHU students with a minimum of 50 annual internships....
