Bhatkhande council nod to special two-year dance diploma for children with disabilities
LUCKNOW, Aug. 20 -- The Academic Council of Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya on Wednesday approved a two-year integrated dance diploma for children with disabilities. The council also took several important decisions on changes to the academic structure under the National Education Policy (NEP).
The decisions were taken in the interest of students with disabilities and researchers in music and arts. Vice-chancellor prof Mandavi Singh said the council also approved the launch of a five-year degree course under the NEP.
"Keeping in mind the needs of special and disabled children, a proposal has been made to launch a two-year integrated dance diploma course. This course will be entirely practical-based rather than theory-based, so that children with special needs do not face any difficulties in their studies," Singh said.
The council also approved a proposal allowing students pursuing a degree course at the university to pursue another diploma course at the same time. Such students will only have to pay the tuition fee for the diploma course. Other fees will be waived as they would have already paid them as part of their degree course.
The council also approved new certificate courses in Yoga, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Pali, Communication Skills, Computer Applications, Stagecraft, Music Composition, Art Criticism, Audio-Video Editing, Buddhist Philosophy, Environmental Studies, Teaching Methodology and Research Methodology under the Faculty of Arts and Music....
