Bajrang Dal leader injured in attack, four booked
PRAYAGRAJ, May 25 -- Police have registered a case under serious charges, including attempt to murder, against four individuals in connection with a late-night attack on a Bajrang Dal district co-convener in the Aspur Devsara police station area of Pratapgarh.
Vinay Singh, a resident of Bhati Khurd village and district co-convener of the Bajrang Dal, alleged that he was targeted due to his association with the organisation.
According to his complaint, the incident took place around 9pm on Saturday when he intervened to stop a group of men from assaulting a stray dog.
Singh claimed the accused surrounded him and attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon, fracturing his skull, before beating him with sticks and clubs.
He sustained serious injuries in the attack. Based on his complaint, police have named four accused-Aslam, Sahil, Sabhajit Yadav and Himanshu Yadav-all residents of the same village. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
Station house officer Rakesh Chaurasia said an FIR has been lodged and further action will be taken following the probe....
