Azad Samaj Party to contest allseven assembly seats in Meerut
Meerut, May 14 -- The Azad Samaj Party will contest all seven assembly seats in Meerut district during the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Chandrashekhar Azad, Member of Parliament from Nagina and the party's national president, announced here on Wednesday.
Azad was in Meerut to address party workers during a major organisational event.
During the programme, leaders associated with the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and other political outfits formally joined the Azad Samaj Party in Chandrashekhar Azad's presence. Among those inducted into the party were SP leader Babar Chauhan Khardauni, Dilshad Bhati, Taufiq Ilahi, Noor Saifi, Satyakumar Prajapati, Nitin Kumar Jatav, Haroon and several other leaders and workers.
Chandrashekhar personally welcomed the new entrants and ceremonially inducted them by presenting party scarves.
Political observers believe that the inclusion of leaders such as SP Chhatra Sabha national general secretary Babar Chauhan Khardauni could strengthen the party's organisational network in Meerut and the adjoining areas. The induction drive also highlighted ASP's attempt to attract grassroots leaders and expand its support base among youth and local communities.
Addressing party workers and supporters, Azad declared that "the era of baton-and-bullet politics will not continue this time." His remarks were seen as a direct political assertion aimed at expanding the party's influence in the region.
He said the Azad Samaj Party remains committed to safeguarding the interests of all sections of the society and aims to establish a social order based on equality and justice. He urged newly inducted members and party workers to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and maintain direct engagement with the public....
