Auto driver found dead in Lko park, family suspects murder
LUCKNOW, March 7 -- The body of a 61-year-old auto driver was found under suspicious circumstances in a park in Sector-14 of Indira Nagar in Lucknow on Friday, prompting police to launch an investigation after the family alleged murder.
The deceased was identified as Rajesh Sonkar, a resident of Munshi Pulia in Indira Nagar. Police said the body bore injury marks and has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
According to his wife, Sushma, Rajesh left home on Thursday morning saying he had some work to attend to but did not return till late at night. The family later received information on Friday that his body was lying in a park in Sector-14. Family members suspect that Rajesh was killed elsewhere and his body was dumped in the park.
Police teams conducted a preliminary inspection and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's wife.
Investigators said they are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to reconstruct the sequence of events and identify those responsible.
Police sources added that Sonkar was reportedly addicted to alcohol, and all possible angles are being examined as part of the investigation....
