LUCKNOW, Aug. 6 -- The proceedings in the 18th Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly's third session for 2026 covered a total of five hours and 32 minutes. The House remained adjourned for two hours and 49 minutes and effective business was conducted for two hours and 43 minutes, according to a press statement issued by the legislative assembly secretariat on Wednesday. A total of 12 important bills pertaining to various departments were passed during the session. The Supplementary Appropriation Bill was passed on Wednesday. During the session, the assembly secretariat's petitions committee received 435 petitions. After scrutiny, 282 petitions were admitted, 49 were rejected, and 104 were declared lapsed as they were received after the prescribed deadline. All petitions received after 8pm on August 4 (Tuesday) were treated as lapsed. The secretariat received 2,427 questions during the session, including 490 starred and 1,466 unstarred questions that were admitted. The government furnished replies to 120 starred and 838 unstarred questions. Notably, 95.67% of all questions were submitted online, and replies were also made available through digital platforms, further strengthening the assembly's e-Vidhan system and digital parliamentary processes.
