Assembly session triggers major traffic diversions in heart of state capital
Lucknow, Aug. 3 -- The Lucknow traffic police has implemented a comprehensive traffic diversion plan around the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha starting August 3. These restrictions will remain in effect for the duration of the Monsoon Session.
Key roads leading to the Vidhan Sabha, Hazratganj and Raj Bhavan will be closed to general traffic, with motorists redirected to alternate routes.
Vehicles coming from Bandariyabagh crossing will not be allowed towards Raj Bhavan, DSO crossing, Hazratganj, GPO or the Vidhan Sabha. Instead, they will be diverted via Lalbatti crossing, Cantonment, Golf Club crossing or 1090 crossing.
Traffic from DSO crossing towards Hazratganj, GPO Park and the Assembly route will be diverted through Park Road and Mayfair crossing.
Similarly, vehicles approaching from Royal Hotel crossing will not be permitted to pass in front of the Vidhan Sabha towards Hazratganj and will instead be routed via Kaiserbagh, Parivartan Chowk, Subhash Chowk and Chiraiya Jheel, or through Burlington crossing, Sadar overbridge and Cantonment.
Roadways and city buses arriving from Mahanagar via Sankalp Vatika underpass will not be allowed towards Sikandarbagh, Hazratganj or the Vidhan Sabha. They will instead be diverted through Baikunth Dham, 1090 (Gandhi Setu) crossing, Bandariyabagh, Lalbatti and Cantonment.
Buses coming from Charbagh via KKC crossing will be diverted away from Hussainganj, Royal Hotel crossing and the Assembly route, and instead move through Loco crossing, Cantonment or Burlington crossing before proceeding towards Kaiserbagh.
Roadways and city buses approaching from Gomti Nagar will also be barred from taking the Sikandarbagh-Hazratganj-Vidhan Sabha route. They will be diverted via Baikunth Dham, Sankalp Vatika overbridge, Chiraiya Jheel and Kaiserbagh, or alternatively through 1090 crossing, Bandariyabagh, Lalbatti and Cantonment.
General traffic from Sikandarbagh towards Hazratganj and the Assembly will be diverted via Dainik Jagran crossing, Balu Adda, 1090 crossing or Chiraiya Jheel.
Vehicles coming from Parivartan Chowk and Hindi Sansthan Tiraha towards the Vidhan Sabha through Hazratganj will also be diverted through Kaiserbagh or Chiraiya Jheel, Sankalp Vatika, Sikandarbagh, Dainik Jagran crossing, 1090 crossing, Golf Club crossing, Bandariyabagh, Lalbatti and Cantonment.
Traffic moving between DSO crossing and Sisendi Tiraha or Royal Hotel crossing will also be regulated and diverted through Hazratganj, Mayfair crossing or Burlington crossing via Cantonment.
