Ashrams on Ayodhya's 84-Kosi Parikrama Marg revamped
Lucknow, June 21 -- The 84-Kosi Parikrama Marg in Ayodhya donned a new look with a complete makeover of six major ashrams located on the pilgrimage route, featuring modern amenities at a cost of Rs 20.64 crore.
Pilgrims undertaking the annual journey will now benefit from improved facilities at the Shravan Kumar, Astik, Rishi Chyavan, Medha Rishi, Shri Bandhu Baba and Maharshi Bamdev ashrams. Upgrades at these sites include the construction of rest houses, toilets, drinking water stations, food stalls, pillars, entrance gates, signage and seating interpretation walls.
The project was executed by the Uttar Pradesh Projects Corporation Limited (UPPCL) and began on May 30, 2023. According to Manoj Sharma, project manager for UPPCL in Ayodhya, the work has been successfully completed.
Tourism department officials stated that these improvements are expected to significantly boost religious tourism in the region. Ayodhya already draws devotees from across the country to sites such as the Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi and Naya Ghat....
