Army salutes Kargil bravehearts on 27th Vijay Diwas at Smritika
LUCKNOW, July 27 -- Marking the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Comman- ding-in-Chief, Surya Comm- and, on Sunday laid a wreath at the Smritika War Memorial in Lucknow to pay tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during Operation Vijay.
The solemn ceremony was attended by veterans, serving Army personnel and senior military officers, who honoured the Kargil martyrs with wreaths and floral tributes.
The Army reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the legacy of the Kargil heroes and upholding the ideals of duty, honour and sacrifice.
The ceremony commemorated the courage and patriotism displayed by Indian soldiers during the 1999 Kargil conflict and highlighted their enduring legacy as an inspiration for future generations.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26 to commemorate India's victory in the Kargil War and honour the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in defending the country's territorial integrity....
