PRAYAGRAJ, June 27 -- The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has invited online applications for 500 vacancies under the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination-2026, commonly known as PCS-2026. Eligible candidates can submit their applications until July 27, while the deadline for corrections, modifications and fee reconciliation will be August 3, said officials. The commission has currently notified 500 vacancies for PCS-2026. However, officials indicated that the number of posts is likely to increase before the declaration of the preliminary examination result as more requisitions are received from government departments. UPPSC secretary Girijesh Kumar Tyagi said that claims related to category, sub-category, domicile, gender, date of birth, EWS status, creamy layer, name and address will be considered valid only if submitted by the last date of application or correction. No representation seeking changes in these details will be entertained after the deadline. Applications found to contain incorrect information will be rejected, he added. Candidates aged between 21 and 40 years as on July 1, 2026, are eligible to apply for the examination. For the first time, candidates associated with the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme will be granted age relaxation of three years and additional weightage in the PCS examination. Under the Uttar Pradesh Public Services (Relaxation in Age Limit and Preference for Researchers under the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme for Competitive Examinations) Rules, 2026, fellowship researchers who have successfully completed their tenure and obtained a completion certificate from the competent authority by the last date of application will be eligible for preference in the main examination....
