Another FIR in Lucknow over post against CM Yogi
LUCKNOW, April 12 -- Another FIR was registered on Saturday in Lucknow over an allegedly objectionable social media post targeting chief minister Yogi Adityanath, a day after a similar case was filed against a Samajwadi Party (SP) spokesperson.
Police said the latest FIR was lodged at Hazratganj police station based on a complaint by Dilip Lodhi, a resident of Sugamau in Indira Nagar, Lucknow.
"The complainant alleged that a Facebook user, identified as Vijay Shyam Yadav, shared an edited and objectionable image of the chief minister along with abusive language and political remarks," said Vikram Singh, SHO, Hazratganj.
The complaint alleged the post intended to tarnish the chief minister's image and could disturb social harmony.
Police registered the FIR under sections 196, 197, 299 and 356 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 66 of the Information Technology Act, 2008.
Earlier, a case was filed against Samajwadi Party spokesperson IP Singh for allegedly sharing an edited video targeting the chief minister.
Police said both matters are under investigation....
