LUCKNOW, Aug. 21 -- Anivesh Choudhary produced a sensational late-order blitz as the Noida Kings pulled off a dramatic three-wicket victory over the Gorakhpur Lions in the UP T20 League, at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium here on Thursday. Choudhary remained unbeaten on 34 off just 15 balls as Noida chased down 186 with one delivery to spare. While batting first after winning the toss, Gorakhpur Lions made an explosive start as Abhay Pratap Singh and captain Aryan Juyal put together a 72-run opening partnership, providing a strong platform for the innings. The Noida Kings fought back with two quick wickets, removing Juyal and Shivam Chaudhary. Abhay, however, continued his impressive form and completed a well-made half-century. He top-scored with 70 from 41 deliveries. Siddharth Yadav then accelerated the scoring with a powerful 51 off 28 balls, including three fours and four sixes. A brief contribution from Parth Palawat helped the Lions finish on 185/9 from their 20 overs. Bobby Yadav was Noida's most successful bowler, claiming four wickets for 48 runs. The Kings' chase began poorly as they slipped to 46/3. Vasu Vats inflicted significant damage in the fourth over, while impact player Abdul Rehman produced an outstanding catch to dismiss one of the early batters. Aditya Sharma and Ravi Singh steadied the innings with a valuable 70-run partnership. Aditya scored 39, while Ravi struck 49 from 28 balls to revive Noida's hopes. Vishal Nishad broke the stand in the 15th over before Prince Yadav dismissed Prashant Veer for a golden duck. Vats then returned to claim his third wicket by removing Ravi. With 23 runs needed from the final two overs, Abdul Rehman bowled an excellent penultimate over, conceding only five runs. That left Noida requiring 18 from six balls. Kartik Siddhu was run out from the first delivery, but Choudhary remained composed. He smashed consecutive sixes, followed them with a crucial two and then struck a boundary off the penultimate ball to complete an extraordinary victory.
