Angry ex-soldier shoots brother-in-law dead in Pratapgarh
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 19 -- A retired Army personnel allegedly shot dead his 48-year-old brother-in-law at a medical store in Madapharpur market in Pratapgarh on Tuesday afternoon, apparently upset over his wife being brought to her parental home without informing him.

Gaya Prasad said he had approached the nearby police outpost twice after receiving the threat but could not meet the outpost in-charge. He subsequently called UP-112, but police arrived shortly after the shooting.
SP-Pratapgarh Deepak Bhukar said the accused's licensed pistol had been recovered and that he was being treated under police custody. Devendra's brother has lodged an FIR against Kapil Dev.
