Haldwani, April 13 -- A 40-year-old man from Almora district was found hanging from a tree in Rudrapur on Sunday, police said. The body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination while an investigation into the incident has been initiated. According to officials, locals informed the police about a body hanging from a tree in a field opposite Omax Colony. Surendra Singh Bisht, in-charge of the SIDCUL Police Outpost, said a police team reached the spot after receiving the information. "On Sunday, locals informed police that a body was hanging from a tree in a field opposite Omax Colony. Acting on the information, a police team rushed to the spot, took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination," said Bisht Police said the deceased was identified through an Aadhaar card recovered from the trouser pocket. The document revealed that the man was a resident of Almora district. "Prima facie, the case appears to be one of suicide. The family members of the deceased have been informed," Bisht said....
