All 16 police stations in Chandauli dist receive ISO, BIS certification
Varanasi, June 20 -- In a national first, all 16 police stations in Chandauli district have simultaneously secured dual certification under ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) IS 15700:2018 (Service Quality Management System). This milestone marks a significant achievement in the Uttar Pradesh Police's commitment to quality-oriented, transparent and citizen-centric policing, said officials on Friday.
Additionally, the government railway police (GRP) station in Azamgarh (Gorakhpur Section) has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification, recognising its excellence in service and accountability.
The certification drive in Chandauli was spearheaded by current superintendent of police (SP) Akash Patel, building on foundations laid by former SP Aditya Langhe. The comprehensive initiative focused on implementing standardised operational procedures, strengthening infrastructure, streamlining record management and upgrading public amenities to align with international quality benchmarks. Compliance was maintained through consistent reviews, specialised training and rigorous internal audits.
The certificates were formally presented at a ceremony at the Police Headquarters by Snehlata, deputy director general of the BIS, to the Uttar Pradesh director general of police (DGP), Rajeev Krishna.
DGP Krishna praised the Chandauli police and GRP Azamgarh teams, noting that these achievements underscore the force's priority for professional, sensitive, and timely service delivery.
