Aligarh defence corridor node: UPEIDA cancels land allotment of three firms
LUCKNOW, June 9 -- As the state gears up for Defence and FDI conclave- 2026 and demand for industrial plots goes up, the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has cancelled land allotments of three companies in Phase-1 of Aligarh defence node of the UP Defence Industrial Corridor for failing to set up industry within the stipulated time.
The action comes in the backdrop of the state government's decision to expedite projects and cancel allotment of such plots where investors have failed to roll out the project even after five years of allotment.
"The action was taken five years after allotment as construction and industrial activities had not started," said the UPEIDA on Monday.
These companies had proposed to invest a total of Rs 124 crore. The authorities concerned said adequate time was given to these companies after land allotment to set up industry, complete construction and start production, but they failed to comply with the terms....
