LUCKNOW, Sept. 24 -- Students of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will soon receive industry certifications from global technology companies CISCO, Synopsys, Siemens and Cadence to help them become industry-ready, officials said. The networking certification by CISCO will mainly train BTech Computer Science students but will be open to students from all branches. Vice-chancellor Prof JP Pandey said faculty development programmes (FDPs) would first be held so teachers can guide students for the certification. "As a pilot we will provide this to students of four colleges in Pratapgarh along with the Centre of Advanced Studies and Institute of Engineering and Technology," Pandey said. AKTU has partnered with semiconductor and design automation firms to offer certificate courses in semiconductors and chip design. The collaboration with Synopsys, Siemens and Cadence will focus on hands-on, industry-relevant skills that are in high demand. "As part of the collaboration the companies will provide software where students will learn various industry-relevant skills," Pandey said. Students will get exposure to tools and workflows.
