Akhilesh promises booth-levelsupport to allies in 2027 elections
Lucknow, May 22 -- Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday announced a full-scale organisational mobilisation across all 403 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, aimed at building a strong PDA alliance for the 2027 state assembly elections.
PDA, a term coined by Yadav, stands for Pichda, Dalit and Alpsankhyak (other backward classes, Scheduled Castes and minorities). In a statement issued on Thursday, Yadav emphasised that the SP's robust booth-level network would extend to every ally contesting alongside the party, with the sole objective of securing victory rather than merely finalising seat-sharing numbers.
"We have fully activated our party workers in all 403 seats. Our focus is not on the number of seats but on winning them. Any ally fighting along with us will get the complete benefit of our organisational strength right down to the booth level," Yadav said. The former chief minister reiterated that the SP is working toward forming a PDA government in 2027. He described it as a government belonging not to any single political party but to the PDA community, which represents 95% of the population, including backward classes, Dalits, minorities and other weaker sections.
