Ailing truck driver found dead in Tons
PRAYAGRAJ, March 16 -- The body of a truck driver, who was reportedly suffering from a prolonged illness, was found floating near the Tons river bridge in the Kohdar area of Prayagraj on Sunday morning.
Villagers spotted the body and immediately recognised the deceased, following which they informed the police and the family. On receiving the information, the deceased's in-laws, residents of Purandih in the Kohdar area, rushed to the spot. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory, along with the in-charge of the Kohdar police outpost and his team, reached the site. The body was later retrieved from the river and sent for post-mortem examination.
The deceased is said to be a resident of Kalwari village in the Tyothar tehsil of Madhya Pradesh and often stayed at his in-laws' house in Purandih. According to local residents, he had been suffering from a serious illness and had not found relief despite undergoing treatment. Distressed by his condition, he is suspected to have gone to the Tons River bridge on the Kohdar-Karchhana road, about one kilometre from his in-laws' home, and jumped into the river....
