AI can analyse data, but org culture needs human touch: HR experts
LUCKNOW, June 14 -- Top HR leaders in Lucknow unanimously agreed that while artificial intelligence can analyse and process data, building organisational culture remains a uniquely human responsibility. The consensus emerged during the HR Leadership Conclave held at the Tata Motors Lucknow Plant on Saturday.
The National HRD Network (NHRDN) Lucknow Chapter, brought together 35 chief human resources officers (CHROs) and HR heads for a leadership conclave themed 'Next Gen HR: Shaping Best Practices in the Era of Artificial Intelligence'.
The event was led by chapter president Jasneet Rakhra, general manager (HR) at Tata Motors Lucknow.
Anku Kumar, zonal HR head at UltraTech Cement, cautioned against the risks of "data without context." Mugdha Mishra of Lucknow International Airport emphasised that a positive passenger experience begins with a positive employee experience, while Abhishek Srivastava, regional HR Head for Lucknow and Varanasi at TCS, advocated for "digital acceleration with a human heartbeat."
The participants agreed that while analytics is helping organisations predict attrition and AI-enabled systems are accelerating recruitment processes, excessive automation can come at the cost of empathy.
"If empathy is automated out of the system, what remains is efficiency and exit," they observed.
Delegates also toured Tata Motors' Diginova facility and manufacturing units, gaining first-hand insight into digital transformation on the shop floor, from workforce dashboards and safety systems to employee engagement practices driven by worker feedback....
