VARANASI, May 27 -- The Beniyabagh goat market has been shut as it falls within a two-kilometer radius of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Municipal commissioner and Smart City chief executive officer Himanshu Nagpal stated that the facility was also housing animals far beyond its designated capacity. Furthermore, the operator was failing to maintain adequate sanitary and hygiene standards. Owing to all these reasons, the decision was taken for the cancellation of their no objection certificate (NOC) (for the goat market). Following sanitation complaints, a smart city team sealed the Beniyabagh goat market. Municipal commissioner Himanshu Nagpal said surprise inspections would be conducted after reports that trading continued despite the seal. Locals said the market has operated there for 30 years with Smart City permission.htc...
