Agra lawyers to abstain from work on August 10
Agra, Aug. 5 -- Reiterating their long-pending demand for the high court bench in Agra, the lawyers here have decided to abstain from work on August 10 as a mark of protest.
Convenor of the Action Committee for Establishment of High Court Bench in Agra, Arun Solanki told Hindustan Times that lawyers in nearby districts are being contacted to join the protest.
"The decision has been taken to abstain from court work on August 10 in Agra and efforts are on to contact respective bar associations in Hathras, Aligarh and Mathura to make it an effective protest at the level of Agra and Aligarh division," said Solanki.
"Bar associations at Etah, Firozabad, Mainpuri, besides Tehsil Bar Association of Agra, Fatehabad, Kheragarh, Etmadpur in Agra district have extended support and will abstain from work on August 10, and demand will be made for immediate implementation of Jaswant Singh Commission report which had favoured Agra as most suitable place for the high court bench in western part of Uttar Pradesh," said Solanki....
