Adityanath halts Vijayadashami procession to let ambulance pass
GORAKHPUR, Oct. 22 -- An ambulance carrying a critically ill patient struggled to navigate the crowd outside Gorakhnath temple during the Vijayadashami procession on Tuesday when Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath directed security personnel to halt the procession and clear the way. The vehicle passed safely, with devotees also helping. The procession resumed shortly afterwards. The gesture drew praise on social media and highlighted the need to keep emergency routes clear during large public gatherings. Later in the night, Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath received tilak and greetings from seers, priests and devotees during the traditional Vijayadashami Tilakotsav at Gorakhnath temple. The ceremony followed the procession and the ceremonial coronation of Lord Ram, with religious functionaries observing the Nath sect's customs.
Earlier, addressing a gathering after the coronation at Mansarovar Ramlila Maidan, he called on people to guard social unity against divisive forces.
"Those who seek to break social unity in the name of caste, region and language are inspired by Ravana," he said.
He alleged that forces operating within and outside India were spreading disinformation and said national security was essential to protecting religion and society.htc...
