Absconding murder accused held after 17 yrs
AGRA, May 13 -- Mathura Police on Tuesday arrested a 42-year-old criminal who had been absconding for the past 17 years in connection with a kidnapping and murder case registered against him at Khair police station of Aligarh district. The accused, identified as Laxman alias Baddo, 42, of Dholpur in Rajasthan, was arrested from Surir area of Mathura district, police said. He carried a reward of Rs 25,000. Confirming the arrest, Suresh Chandra Rawat, SP (rural), Mathura, said: "The accused had been absconding since 2009. He was also not appearing in court for the ongoing trial of the case.""A case was registered against him at Khair police station of Aligarh and a reward of Rs 25,000 was declared on him by senior officials. He was arrested on Tuesday from near Tehra underpass in Mathura by a police team led by Surir police station officer Ajay Kumar Singh," he added....
