PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 27 -- In a major crackdown ahead of Raksha Bandhan, the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) seized approximately 70 quintals of sweets from a premises operating under the guise of a guest house in Malak Chaudhary village under Soraon tehsil in Prayagraj. The raid was conducted late on the night of August 25 with the assistance of administrative officials and police personnel. Acting on a tip-off, the enforcement team reached the guest house and found large storage facilities packed with a huge quantity of sweets. During the inspection, authorities recovered a wide range of sweets prepared from khoya, chhena, and besan. Preliminary assessment suggested the stock weighed around 70 quintals. Officials suspected large-scale adulteration after finding indications that the khoya contained starch and other harmful substances.
