PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 19 -- The Nagar Kotwali police and SWAT team of Pratapgarh police busted a vehicle-lifting gang and arrested seven alleged members. Eight stolen motorcycles were recovered, police said on Friday. ASP (East) Alok Kumar said while addressing media persons at Sai Complex in the police lines that the arrests followed a checking operation near Kishundaspur bridge late on Thursday night. The checking team, led by city Kotwali SHO Subhash Yadav, Jail outpost in-charge Prashant Dubey, Civil Lines outpost in-charge Rahul Kumar and SWAT team in-charge Amit Chaurasia, stopped two motorcycle-borne men on suspicion. Police said questioning revealed that the motorcycle they were riding was stolen. During interrogation, the two allegedly disclosed about other gang members and locations of stolen motorcycles. The arrested men were identified as Adarsh Kumar Pasi alias Biru of Januwadih in Phulpur, Prayagraj; Aman Patel alias Nirahua of Goria in Phulpur; Anshul Kumar and Anmol Pal of Dhammaur Chakia in Baharia; Mohammad Yakub of Jagdishgarh in Dilippur, who was living on rent on Siptaen Road in the city; Ramgulam Sharma of Faroshan in Chalakpur; and Rajesh Kumar of Manaitapur in Kandhai....
