Haldwani, Aug. 19 -- Seven healthcare workers, including two doctors, were booked on Tuesday in connection with the death of a 14-month-old child at Bageshwar District Hospital in July 2025. The accused were identified as district hospital doctors Dr Bhupendra Ghatiyal and Dr Amit Kumar, nursing officers Mahesh Kumar and Himani, ward boy Suraj Singh Kanwal, and ambulance staff members Ishwar Singh Tolia and Laxman Kumar, police said. Bageshwar SP Jitendra Mehra said the case was registered on the basis of a Zero FIR received from Tharali police station in Chamoli district. The complainant, Dinesh Chandra Joshi, alleged that his 14-month-old son, Shivansh, fell ill on July 10 2025. The family took the child to Bageshwar District Hospital after travelling through Gwaldam and Baijnath, said the complaint.
