Lucknow, May 17 -- Work on the six-lane elevated road project from Mayur Vihar in New Delhi to the Mahamaya Flyover in Noida near the Chilla Regulator is progressing rapidly with over 52% of the project completed, according to an official statement. The project aims to reduce traffic pressure between Noida and Delhi and provide better connectivity. Executed by the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation, the project is being developed at a cost of approximately Rs 892.75 crore, said Ajay Chauhan, principal secretary, PWD. The 5.57-km elevated road will make travel between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi much smoother, he added. Once the elevated road is ready, traffic from Delhi's Mayur Vihar and Noida Sectors 14A, 15A, 16, and 18 will be able to reach Mahamaya Flyover and the expressway directly. This is expected to significantly reduce jams, travel time, and pollution. According to the state government, the project's first milestone has been achieved on time, and work is currently progressing as per the set schedule. So far, the project's total physical progress stands at 52.11% and financial progress at 42.57%. According to the State Bridge Corporation, so far 1,303 out of 1,567 piles, 184 out of 271 pile caps, and 410 out of 1,310 girders have been completed. Additionally, five major entry and exit ramps are being built in the project, which will ensure seamless traffic movement between various sectors of Noida and Delhi. The Yogi government's development policy based on expressways, flyovers, and urban infrastructure is positioning Uttar Pradesh among the states with the most modern connectivity networks in the country, said Chauhan.
