Lucknow, Sept. 17 -- Around 5.63 lakh enumerators and supervisors (including 10% reserve) will be deputed in the second phase of Census 2027 in Uttar Pradesh commencing from December 1. The administrative unit in which the population enumeration work will be carried out includes 75 districts, 17 municipal corporations, 350 tehsils, 783 statutory towns, 14,979 wards, 1,04,004 villages and 4,78,783 enumeration blocks. To accelerate the preparations for the second phase of Census-2027 in Uttar Pradesh, the training programme for master trainers commenced at Deendayal Upadhyay State Institute of Rural Development, Lucknow by UP Directorate of Census Operations on Wednesday. A total 305 master trainers will provide training to 7,500 field trainers at the district level and the field trainers will provide training to 5.63 lakh enumerators/supervisors at the tehsil/urban local body level. The training will cover in detail various processes related to the second phase of Census-2027. Inaugurating the training programme, Sheetal Verma, director and chief principal census officer, Uttar Pradesh said, Census is an important national task. For its successful completion, it is essential that the personnel working at the field level have a clear understanding of the subject and perform their duties as per the prescribed procedure. Population enumeration will be conducted in Uttar Pradesh from December 1 to January 4, 2027. From November 16 to 30, all the residents can complete self enumeration. They will be given a self-enumeration ID. When the enumerators visit the households from December 1 to January 4, they will provide the self-enumeration ID to the enumerator, who in turn will record their data in the concerned enumeration block. The reference time for population enumeration in the second phase of Census-2027 is on 5 January, 2027, 00:00 hours.
