Dharamshala, July 29 -- Five people of a family were killed after the car they were travelling in plunged into a deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district, officials said on Tuesday. The mishap occurred on Bharmour-Pathankot National Highway in the wee hours on Tuesday at Lahar near Banikhet in Chamba when the car went out of control and fell into the gorge. All five occupants of the vehicle, who belonged to the same family, were killed in the crash, police said. The victims included a three-month-old infant. Police said the family was returning home to the Dharwala area of Chamba from Chandigarh when the accident occurred, adding that the exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. An investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances leading to the crash. Meanwhile, chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed grief over the accident. He directed the district administration to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved family members....
