Lucknow, Aug. 18 -- A rare confluence of Sawan Monday and Nag Panchami drew massive crowds of devotees to Shiva temples across Uttar Pradesh on Monday. In Varanasi, long queues were seen early at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham as pilgrims performed Jalabhishek amid chants of "Har-Har Mahadev" and "Bol Bam." On the directions of chief minister Yogi Adityanath, flowers were showered from a helicopter on Kanwariyas and devotees, filling the temple complex with rose petals and divine fervour. Similar aerial floral tributes welcomed Kanwariyas in Barabanki, where crowds thronged temples, including Lodheshwar Mahadev.
