35-year-old clinic operator murdered in Ballia; accused nephew held
VARANASI, Aug. 13 -- A 35-year-old woman was murdered at her clinic in Ballia's Gadwar town on Tuesday night, police said.
Police arrested her nephew in connection with the crime.
The victim was identified as Kanchan Bharti, 35. The incident came to light when her husband, Siyaram, arrived at her clinic at the Gadwar intersection after she failed to answer his calls. Upon arrival, he found his wife lying in a pool of blood and alerted the police around 9 pm.
Siyaram filed a complaint accusing his nephew, Bittu, of the murder. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Section 103 (murder) and other relevant sections at the Nagra police station.
Superintendent of police Omvir Singh stated that three police teams were deployed to ensure the arrest of the accused. Bittu was arrested following an investigation involving manual intelligence and technical surveillance, the SP added. htc...
